Where are the chips now Baumann?

Game 1 Recap and Game 2 Info.
Well well, somethings never change. Mainly the Host John Charles Baumann was first out again.
Above are a few little snippets of the evening. Left to right then top to bottom.
1. Poker Chips, obvious
2. Chops smothered with Baumanns special sauce, cream of mushroom, not his man ranch (which Duff said like 3 times that night.)
3. Time Warner, not only the place where Baumann peddles cable but also a subject of topic amongst Joe that evening who shang hi'd the install 3 days before Christmas.
4. Ribs, which were tasty but........
5. Ragu was the rib sauce.
6. Pot, Baumanns other medication
7. Coors Light, people were drinking, I brought a 6 pack.
8. Baumann and the dead black swan. No need to comment.
9. Girls of Kahoots, where the night ended. Baumann was good for a cover charge to be waived. What pull he has.
Good start to the season, Skippy did not win but the two new comers to the league, Bob and Joe went 1 and 2 resepctively. Beginners luck I say.
Look forward to this weeks game at Rick Markus' place. Feb. 5th at 8pm.
I will do my best to update sooner than later.
Several Key Notes.
-Blinds raise after 40 minutes and double after each. Was it the small or was it big that doubles?
-2nd Place gets there money back for the evening, $20 if a member or $10 if it is a sub (10th man)
-Prediction of Baumann points earned in game 2. 2pts. Which will be a 200% increase from his previous pts. earned.
See you all Friday

Game 2 Rollercoaster
From My seat, or say multiple seats since I had to switch to 3 different tables the best to describe Game 2 was a rollercoaster in chipstacks. Up, down, up, down, up for some and then down for some. Many players most notablely Jon was up and down in his stack all night. Mr P, Myself, Brandy, Mark, Tommy, Jesse, Scott were the ones I noticed most who went up and down.Jon survived many sways in chipstack to take the win by knocking out Brandy's massive chipstack and eventually taking out Student Attorney Gerrit.

Season 2, Game 1, Unbelievable Collapse

WOW. In one word is how I describe the first game of season 2. In my eyes wow is the word that best fits many apsects of the season.
First, the league expanded from 10 to 16 players this year. Only 6 of the 16 were in last years league. Also the league founder, Marc Woodgeard dropped out in a dissapointing fashion. Come on you are the founder, this isnt the XFL it has more than 1 season in its life expectancy.
Secondly, Subs were out of control. First we needed 2 then 3 then 4 then 3 then 2 then 3. Finally it worked ok but Scott and I were calling everyone we knew. So for future reference try to get your own sub if you cannot make it. Sorry Bauamann is no longer allowed to sub.
Thirdly, I am not a conspiracy theorist but when Jay invites 4 of his friends to join the league and Tommy, John, Todd and Mark go out in that order and all of the chips go to Jay, Hmmmm, makes me wonder. But all for not Jay had almost 1/2 of the chips in play and he lost it all and didnt even finish in the money, placed 4th. The biggest meltdown I have ever witnessed in poker history.
Lastly the game moved along just fine with two tables playing and the cash game was a little different this time. Normally we just play Texas Hold Em but since John and Todd joining the league they bring their experience and variety of different style of poker games. Its fun and refreshing from the norm but be careful and you might need to bring your checkbook because games like Acey Duecy were being plaid.
Congrats to Skippy for winning the first game.
1. Skippy - 16 pts.
2. Scott - 15 pts.
3. Dave Ray - 14 pts.
4. Jay - 13 pts.
5. Brandy - 12 pts.
6. Don - 11 pts.
7. Gerrit - 10pts.
8. Barna - 9pts.
9. Taco - 8 pts.
10. Mr. P. - 7pts.
11. Jesse (Ed subbed) - 6 pts.
12. Rick (Brad Subbed) - 5pts.
13. Mark - 4 pts.
14. Todd - 3 pts.
15. John - 2 pts.
16. Tommy - 1pt.
Oh yeah, a small congrats to Gerrit for winning the first season championship.

Baumann Laughs Last, and Gerrit Closes in his Championship

Thursday, October 11, 2007
Scott's Birthday wish comes true; He wins a game.
Thanks for hosting the game and we recommend you use some of that birthday money and invest in a fan, even though you are on a budget.
It came down to a final three in the final hours of the game and it seemed the garage was on tilt.
The aggressor of the three finalists was Dont Call Me EZ Money Mchone accompanied by Newly 31 year old Scott and the man with the bulls eye on him, Gerrit. Believe it or not Kenny went all in 7 times in the final hour and Scott and of course Gerrit did not have the balls to challenge the once timid Mchone. Although Kenny did finish higher than the points leader Gerrit but Scott had his cake and ate it too.
Not much other action but 9's were hot but of course I lost on a pocket pair of 9's and went out 7th. Jesse was not present but Brandy did sub for him and placed 7th but won $$ on the side table.
Kyle also not present and he had a sub who did not live up to his middle placings by finishing 9th.
Jay had diarrhea and it affected his chips as he lost it all fast and finished 10th.
Mr. P on the other hand took some Imodium AD and it worked finishing 4th.
Woody and Skippy never got the cards to finish in the top tier but finished a 5th and 6th respectively.
Next year we might need to make a rule amendment as Nick Preston was a highlight for all.
No more talk of red rockets or lipstick in front of women guests and no changing music unless you are the host of the game or given permission to DJ. Just kidding, we still love ya Nick.
Woody is hosting the next game and I sent the information in an email but if you missed it here is the address.
8741 Greylag Loop, Blacklick, OH 43004.
It is going to be a cold night and Woody has said he will have the game inside and yes, smoking is allowed. Fortunately he has a fan and can disperse the smoke and heat, unlike another member in the league, I wont mention any names, oops already did earlier.
See you guys Friday.
Eliminated for a 1st place finish in standings

3 Games Left
Gerrit has a commanding lead and if anyone can catch him he has to be gang tackled.
9 vs. 1, watch out Gerrit cause were blitzin.
Mathematicaly everyone still has a shot for 1st place but reality it Gerrit should have it locked up. So the real battle will be for second. Unless Gerrit plays sloppy but odds are he will play tight like Kenny has been lately.
As usual the game will start at 8p.m. and this time it will be at Scott Preston's home.

Gerrit Drinks To Victory

By the Columbus Dispatch Press
Alas, Gerrit made it to the pinnacle of a game in the famous Buckeye Poker League sponsered by the Maurice Clarret Foundation for Early Parole, better know as MCFEP. Enjoy that drink Gerrit.
Althouh many might think Gerrit had help from his lovely lady Linda, who played a great game and had the honor of knocking me out. He played with poise just like his hero from Akron and current star of the Cavs, LeBron James. Who also had a great week by making it to the NBA Championship. So it was a great week for Gerrit but from the Cavs showing last night in the Championship against the Spurs it might just be a memory of Old Glory to come for the Den Heijer.
To bad for Jesse who had the chance to take off with a commanding points lead coming into the halfway mark. He failed to show and earned a mere 1 pt. I can't say much, although I doubled his pts. with a whopping 2.
Several other supprises the last game was how long everyone was in. No one got knocked out until the big blind was up to $1000, over 2 1/2 hours of play. But I have been told once we started to fall it came quick until the end when Gerrit and Papa Scott Preston were battling head to head. Until Scott tried to slow play the Dane and got caught on the river to give, I mean a hand wrapped victory to the man who bears an Asian Cock Sucker on his leg, Gerrit.
The biggest supprise in my opinion was Kenny "formerly EZ-Money" Mchone. It was probable that his apodo (spanish for nickname) would change to "The Vault". Marc "Woody" Woodgeard said "I have never seen anyone so tight since my first girlfriend. Jay "No Nickname" Preston said "I couldnt get my game going until he was out but by that time it was too late, kinda of like what will probably happen to the Cavs in the Finals". All for not Kenny finally turned back into an ATM by going out 4th. Good job though Kenny, it is his highest placing so far, 7th and brings his total pts. for the season to Unlucky No. 13 but he is now in double digits. At least I can keep him company in the cellar.
Also thanks to the two Subs, Nathan Dickman who finished in the middle for the ultra conservative Kyle. Also the lovely Linda, Gerrits soon to be wife who played great unfortunately it was for the Drunken Absentee Curt "Skippy" Neiset. Drunky, I mean Skippy was in attendence to the memorial and was drinking for all of Dublin. Mr. Preston who also attended the Memorial was able to make the game, heck he has hosted it for a record 4th time. Thanks again Mr. P.
Mr. P. also made a suggestion to not have future games on the Memorial Tournament weekend. Duly noted and we will not do it again.
As for the next game I will host it on July Friday the 13th. It has been accepted to not have that game on 4th of July weekend. Hey Kenny its the 13th and you have 13 pts. I see good cards for you that day, that is if you play them.
Here is my address. 2636 Woodley Road, Columbus, OH 43231. Here is the link to the map.
http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result.php?q1=2636+woodley+rd.+Columbus%2C+OH+43231

See you guys in July. Happy 4th.

Sorry it took so long to update, just been real busy lately.
Jesse took 1st place but the runner-up Jay took 1st overall lead.
Gerrit had a disapointing first out and shed a couple tears.
Game 4 would be schedueled for May 4th. At Mr. Prestons house.
Game time will start at 8pm. Just like last time.

Game 3 UPDATE!!!
Also Skippy who subbed for Jose would like to join the league if anyone decides to drop out.
He will probably come to every game and play the cash games afterward so if anyone ever needs a sub he would like to fill in.

Game Two Results and Game Three Announcement
Also a big thanks for the subs who filled in, Brandy, Skippy and Gino.
Congrats to Jose who had a baby boy on Friday and to Scott who found out that his child to be is a boy.
Congrats to Skippy who won the game and scored 10pts for Jose. Gerrit finished Second and took the overall lead. See to the right for full results.
Scott Preston set a record by going all in on the first hand and losing before the actual 8 o'clock start time. He was out at 7:59 got beat by Woody, 4 of a kind over a full house.
We will shoot for the next game to be on April 6th which is a FRIDAY and game time is at 8:00 but try to be there around 7:30-7:45 so we can start at 8pm.

There were a couple of revisions in the rules, so please see below. Also Mr. P brought up a point about 2nd place should at least get the $10 back. It will be put to a vote next game which is at this time schedueled for MARCH 2 at 7:30 at Mr. P's again unless there are any objections. Emails will go out to discuss more. Also the games are going to be scheudeled for the first Friday of the month.

Buckeye Poker League

1. Woody
2. Scott
4. John
6. Jay
8. Carlos or Kyle
10. Jesse
The $20 buy in will be distributed as such. $10 will be added to that night’s game with $5 going to the tournament pot and $5 more to the bounty chip. If you eliminate a player then you get their $5
NO RE-BUY in tournament games.
Remember, you may have a sub play for you should you not be able to make the game. Should they win-they keep the money! You keep the points!
The point system is as follows (based on 10 man league):1st out-1pt, 2nd out-2pt… Winner of night 10points!
If two or more are knocked out on the same hand then the person with the better hand gets the higher points. If it is a tie the both get the lower point. For example first hand two people get knocked out and they have the same hand each player would get 1 pt.
Each game we will try to set a date for the next game. If 8 players can commit for a game then it should take place and the other two must find subs.
